Wired was founded by Louis Rossetto and his partner Jane Metcalf.
It was advertised as the "Rolling Stone of Technology" and began publishing in 1993.
Its launch was a great success and in the first four years it won two National Magazine Awards.
One for General Excellence and one for Design.
